As a graduate from The College of Charleston with a BA in Studio Art and a MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Graphic Design. For 15 years Cory focused primarily on graphic design. In 2015, she decided to come back to painting and is enjoying the ability to work in both mediums. She has experienced many recent accolades including making the USA Today Top 10 Best Makers of 2017 list.
My artwork is a culmination of my experiences and training as both a classical artist and a graphic designer. My work uses various geometric formulas to explore key composition elements, and bring them forward through my use of color and texture. I also use it as an opportunity to expand my abilities through constant experimentation. With influences ranging from Curtis Jeré, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko and contemporary masters I discover the beauty in the evolution of the object, place and idea. The search of how to find myself is ever evolving and takes a transcendent journey through color, pattern and form.
