David French was born in England and now lives and works in Charleston, SC. He has been exhibiting his artwork professionally since 1987. He pursued his love of visual art at Carnegie-Mellon University, BFA & Vermont College of Fine Art, MFA. David’s first solo exhibition was in Chicago 1990. Today, David recently presented a solo exhibition "Chromatic Payoff" of 56 paintings at The Noyes Museum in Atlantic City, NJ. David is very active in exhibiting in galleries and museums across the country. He is in the collections of CertusBank, the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Consolidated Gas Company, Talisman Energy USA and Cincinnati Information Systems, among many other private and corporate collections.
“I have worked to create a bridge between gestural abstraction and post-minimal process painting. Relational and non-relational painting experimentation has enabled me to nuance a language between mechanical automation and personal expression.”
